Take a deep dive into the wonderful & expansive world of hand building! In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of hand building to create pieces that express their creative vision. The course will cover pinch, slab, and coil building techniques, underglaze and glaze applications, as well as a range of surface design skills. Students may create functional work (pots, plates, vases, bowls, etc) or sculptural pieces. After covering fundamentals, class demos will be tailored to what students would like to accomplish. We will also talk about clay as a creative practice and share ideas with one another in a supportive environment.
 
Beginning and experienced makers are welcome in this course.
 
$295 includes 25 lbs. of clay, firing of up to 10 pieces, and one day of open studio use per week of the class session.
